USED to be the best bread I had ever had but it just isn't the same anymore. The texture and flavor are so different. I also called the store with the concern about the switch to plastic bags because they are so bad for the environment. Before I was even finished asking about the packaging change I was cut off and talked over by the manager and was informed that they will never go back to paper bags because they were getting more expensive. Glad to hear that being cheap is more important than taking care of where you live. We should be working on making this a better place for future generations, not making worse. I will no longer purchase this bread because I don't want to add to the problem. Such a same considering I grew up enjoying this bread.

We have been eating Spatz bread for over 60 years. My parents lived in Saginaw, but we moved farther north for my dad to work. When my father returned to Saginaw to work, and we were living up north, on his way back home up north, he would stop at the bakery and bring many loaves home. Now when I visit and camp in the thumb, I can get my fix of Spatz bread at the Mc Donald’s grocery store in Bad Axe. It brings back memories of times with family. When I can, I make sure my children and 6 siblings get at least 2 loaves in the summer. I do have to time it right so I avoid the vacation closing. Best toast ever, and I do spread the word. 😋

I have never been in the store itself. We are from the Saginaw area and always bought from Jacks Fruit Market. We now live near Gaylord but my husband is in the area frequently. He always stops to get a loaf or 2 to bring home. The best bread ever! Only downside is when they go on vacation in July, lol.

Best bakery in town, the bread is the best! Got cookies, danishes, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, and cupcakes. Great prices too
